Merve Demir

Dr. Merve Demir completed her undergraduate education at Istanbul Commerce University, Department of International Relations in 2017, graduating with honours. She earned her Master's degree from the same university and department with her thesis titled “The Problem of Cooperation in the Defense Industry: The Examples of the Cyprus Peace Operation and the Olive Branch Operation.” Demir earned her doctorate degree from Istanbul University's European Union Department in 2025 with her thesis titled “The Role of Development Aid in International Cooperation: The Transformation of European Union Development Aid in North African Countries” as part of the YÖK 100/2000 Priority Areas - African Studies project. Demir's areas of expertise include international political economy, development aid, and economic and trade relations between the European Union and North African countries. Shee works as a researcher at the Türkiye Research Foundation.
